Hoopfest And Ronny Turiaf Unveil Community Court

SPOKANE, WA (June 22, 2011) – The Spokane Hoopfest Association, Ronny Turiaf, and the Heart to Heart Foundation have partnered to revitalize the basketball court at Corbin Park in north central Spokane. The renovation includes a new NBA sized basketball court, consisting of a new playing surface, poles, backboards, rims and player benches. This will mark the first court renovation by the Heart to Heart Foundation and the 27th community court project for the Spokane Hoopfest Association.

The Heart to Heart Foundation has teamed up with the Gable Heart Beats Foundation.

Michael Gable’s Story

Michael grew up in the small town of Monroe WA, just north of Seattle. He received a full athletic scholarship to Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, California. It was there that he met the love of his life, Michelle, who would later become his wife and the mother of their two children, Matteo and Grace.

Throughout his life, Michael strove to break down all racial barriers and create a better world for his family. He lived each moment with love and gratitude. In 1996, Michael joined the band SEGUE and used his lyrics as a way to spread his beliefs about the equality of ALL human kind. SEGUE performed for over 15 years in some of the most respected venues in the San Francisco Bay Area. Michael developed a reputation within the music community as an accomplished singer and songwriter.
