Monday, February 22, 2010 declared as “Ronny Turiaf Day” in the city of Oakland

In honor of the Heart to Heart Foundation launch and Ronny’s contributions to the Oakland community, Mayor Ronald V. Dellums formally declared February 22, 2010 as “Ronny Turiaf Day”. Mayor Dellums proclaimed “…his efforts to create the Heart to Heart Foundation, a beacon of education and hope for underprivileged children which provides funding for early heart condition diagnosis and has now provided Automated External Defibrillators to five Bay Area Youth organizations; we are proud to count Ronny Turiaf among Oakland’s distinguished constituents, we celebrate the life of an incredible basketball player, role model, and community activist and his legacy will extend onward throughout the many lives he has brought happiness to.”
